If you’re in the US, and reading this in time to take advantage of it, let me congratulate you on being very dedicated to your RSS feeds. It is clear that you really deserve what I am about to reveal.

So what am I babbling about? One simple word: 1Password. Here’s another to get you excited: free. Now, here are some about the offer’s limitations: Thanksgiving day only.

You only need two things, besides the 1Password free trial. A Mac, which you almost certainly have, and a friend with a licensed copy of 1Password who has not already given away their free licenses.

Yes, that’s right. Every registered user of 1Password gets either one or three licenses to give away. It’s not clear which number, it seems that every user who has given away a license on Twitter has gotten two more.

Here’s how it works: your friend has a lisence, and he goes to http://agile.ws/gift/thanksgiving. He enters your name and email address, and you get an email from 1Password with two links. The first link is something clever Agile Web Solutions, the developers of 1Password, has set up. It is not a http:// link, nor a https:// link. It is, in fact, a onepassword:// link, and when clicked it will open 1Password for you and register you in 1Password–if you have 1Password. That’s why the second link is to download 1Password. If the fancy URL thingy doesn’t work, you can copy-paste your key into the 1Password register window.

If I have been given any licenses, which I think I have, here is how I will give them away: The first three people under 18, or can otherwise not get a credit card, to Direct Message me on Twitter with their name, email, and age or reason you can’t get a credit card will get my licenses. I encourage everyone else to do this too, and feel free to use more than one message if you need to.

So, you’ve sent enough time reading this, now go make and/or eat a feast, even if you’re not in the US. Everybody deserves to pig out at least once a year. If you do, though, don’t forget to give thanks.

P.S. This is now a perfect candidate for my soon-to-come podcast on the IMP network, which may be called Free4me. The name is not set in stone, so feel free to suggest a better one. It meets the two criteria of being a Mac app and being free for me, and since I’m going in alphanumericabetical order (that’s a word now), 1Password is probably going to be the first app. But you knew that already, right? No? Oh well, belated spoiler alert!
