I used to use Google Gears to access Gmail, Google Docs, etc. offline all the time, but when I upgraded to Snow Leopard, it just stopped working. This is because of some security adjustments that were made in the 62 bit version of Safari for Snow Leopard.
Fortunately there’s a hack which involves installing a special version of Google Gears, and tweeking Safari a little. (more…)
It’s the first episode of iEyeNeue, which is known in the business as a ‘pilot’. It’s also called the pilot episode because, like a certain pilot, you’ll probably end up napping through the whole thing (although you’ll later deny it). Today marks the third reincarnation of iEye (though this was the longest hiatus yet, which is why this is the only reincarnation that has gotten a new name), the first 2 were episodes 13 and 21 respectively. The new show boasts a new ‘set’, and better production values, but don’t worry, it’s still pretty stupid!
Now, I must admit this episode has it’s problems, I’m just not entirely sure what said problems are, so if you would be so kind as to email with anything you’d like me to work on for next time, or (if you’re feeling nice), what you particularly liked. Now, without further ado, episode 1! (Watch it in SD flash below, or click one of the many links for different versions.

For those of you new to the Keatonoverse, let me fill you in on an old project of mine called iEye. It was a tech satire video podcast, known for being unceasingly stupid, and apparently that made it entertaining. Unfortunately, around this time last year I had to cancel it (actually, in the spirit of being vague and sophisticated sounding, I called it a ‘permanent hiatus’). Now, thanks to some new (HD!) equipment, some extra time, and a number of polite requests, iEye is returning for an encore presentation known as iEyeNeue. The new show will only be monthly, but hopefully it will be consistent in that, unlike iEye, which basically just happened whenever I felt like it. The new show begins as part of the IMP network on October 25th, but I couldn’t leave you guys completely hanging until then, so here’s a little teaser to get your collective appetite whet.

I don’t know about you, but as a web designer I find it quite frustrating when working on a project to have to run a seperate FTP app. How great would it be if you could see all your files and folders on the remote server within Finder?!!
ExpanDrive is a really unique FTP client that does just that by providing a simple, convenient way to access, and edit files on your remote server by mounting it as if it were an external hard drive on your local system.
So lets dive in, and take a look at how it works. (more…)
