So the best form factor for an actually capable machine was a G4 Mac Mini at the time. You could get lots of small machines, but they were all rubbish. Quite literally at the time (2005) I felt that every small form factor PC was basically a waste of money. The G4, while certainly not a powerhouse, was the one machine that reasonably allowed you to actually get things done in a size that was so small that it took up no space whatsoever on my desk - at a KVM switch and I was in business. And the reality of the machine was that while it was not fast, it allowed me to do things that wowed family and friends alike. The little G4 arrived in my home back in late 2005 and did me a wonderful service until I replaced it on black friday 2007 with an iMac, when my home office moved. That little Mac Mini at the time had the right price sweet spot for me, and indeed just the right form factor. It also had something that truly amazed me, it had amazing resale value of about 50% of its purchase prize. That was something I considered unheard of until that time. Oh well... why am I writing all this?
