Hello all, after reading Keaton’s post about his predictions for September 1st I have been inspired to write my own. I mean, it’s about time I wrote something here.

I absolutely adore music, it’s on a par with how much I enjoy discussing technology. This annual event normally, has been the perfect match between the two for me. While we can neither confirm nor deny, it’s quite probable that we will see at least one new iPod at this event, along with new AppleTV’s and such. So I believe it’s worth writing about my predictions for the iPod lines for 2010/2011. (more…)

I am pleased to announce that after several weeks of development, a month or two of beta testing, and another month of sitting on my rear, doing nothing, IMP for iPhone has been submitted to the App Store and is in review. We’re hoping that we can get this approved as quickly as possible to get it out to you people. So, keep your eyes peeled, and we’ll even let you know when it’s out.

Air Mouse Pro – a Wireless Trackpad

I was watching the most recent Macworld video podcasts where they were talking about using a Mac Mini as a home theater. They mentioned an app in the video called Air Mouse Pro (iTunes link).

Air Mouse Pro is an app which essentially turns your iPhone or iPod Touch into a trackpad-style mouse for your Mac, or PC. The app uses WiFi to connect to your desktop. I had success connecting to my MacBook both through the existing wireless network, and through an AdHoc network, so even if there is no WiFi where you happened to be, you can still use the app. Air Mouse Pro turns the screen of your device into a full function Multi-Touch trackpad. If you are hooking to a Mac then it assumes the same functionality as your portable would have, or limited multi touch with a desktop machine. After you install the menu bar application on the desktop, which is required to use this app, you can fully control your Mac.

Rolando 2 is the follow-up to Rolando. Rolando was created by Simon Oliver and published by Ngmoco (Next Generation Mobile Company). The point of Rolando 1 & 2 is to all your rolandos to the end of the level by finishing puzzles, dealing with challenges and being awesome. Rolando 2 added more physics features by adding in weight of the Rolando to the equation. Rolando 2 also added water (which the bigger rolandos need to sink in to complete certain puzzles) and perspective 3D.

We are happy to announce the IMP iPhone App! …Sorta. We are now accepting people for an open beta so we can iron out bugs before it goes public in the App Store.

How to Apply:
Send an email to beta AT impodcast DOT tv with your device UUID and your name. We’ll email you back with a beta version of the app, and instructions on how to get the application installed on your device.

Due to restrictions, however, we can only accept a few into the beta for now. The first twenty people or so we hear from will be accepted, but no more. There is a possibility that we may accept more in the future, but that is not guaranteed, so don’t hold out for it.

For those that don’t get into the beta, check out these fresh screenshots we have straight from the app.

Wow, I really hope I am not making a habit out of this whole blogging thing, but the people of the tech world are just making me so angry at their stupidity, that I just have to enlighten them. Today, I am referring to the iPhone 3G to 3GS upgrade cost, and AT&T’s recent cave.

*Note: In this article, I will refer to AT&T, but most of this information is applicable to any carrier*

Let’s start with the basics. The original iPhone was an unsubsidized phone. That means that you paid the entire cost of the phone, and AT&T paid Apple a certain amount over the life of the contract, and that is how Apple made a good chunk of their money. When you terminate a contract on an unsubsidized phone, AT&T only loses the amount that you were paying them for the service, which to them is all profit. So you paid for the service, and when you terminate the contract, you don’t get any more service, so AT&T doesn’t lose anything. (more…)
