Ok. I have had enough. I am going to break my non-blogging spell, and actually contribute something textual to this podcast. The summer is a perfect time because I actually have some semblance of my life back. Now, this blog post might make you think, which I hope it does, and it might just make you angry. Feel free to comment, or email me directly, at connor@impodcast.tv
So, as you might have guessed from the title (You know, that clause in big bold letters above the body of the post. You can’t miss it!), this post is about the new, built-in battery of the new unibody MacBook Pros. There has been grumbling, there has been complaining, and there has even been full blown temper tantrums. You know what? I am sick of it. That’s right. I’ve had enough. I actually LIKE (gasp) the new built-in batteries, and I am here to bust dispell the myths about them. (more…)
Note: this post was originally published on my personal blog.
I sat down & worked it out the other day, and I’ve been a ‘switcher in waiting’ for 18 years – give or take a few days… that’s a long time, but I suppose I have spent most of it convincing myself that I ‘didn’t need one’ and they were for ‘Arty’ Types, and they didn’t do ‘Business Stuff’ and a whole heap of the kind of thoughts that Apple turned into reality with the ‘Mac & PC’ ads – both in the USA and over here in the UK.
(if you’ve never seen them a) where HAVE you been? and b) go find them on Youtube when you’re finished here, they’ll make you smile and nod understandingly too…)
So I’d be quietly hankering after a change of computer for ages – but what made me finally take the plunge, you ask? (more…)

First of all we’d like to apologise to everyone who tried to listen live this week. As you know we’ve left the TalkShoe service due to quality and other issues, however our new solution with Stickam didn’t work out as well as we hoped due to bandwidth issues with Stu’s broadband (should be fixed soon). We are trying to resolve these issues to get a great live experience for you all.
With the largest IMP Live panel we’ve ever had we tackled this week’s Apple news head on!
Remember folks, next week is IMP Live @ Leeds, so there will be no Friday live show. If you can make the live event we’d love to see you there.

QuickerTek has introduced it’s latest Apple charging product, this one powered by the sun, called the Apple Juicz. Coming in versions for all three MacBooks (Original, Air and Pro), the charger harnesses the sun through solar panels in a foldable and flexible cell array.

The 18 watt version will charge the Macbook Air in about 14 hours; the 27 watt which will do the same in about 8 hours and the 55 watt which can knock it out in about 5 hours. The biggest downside, so far, is the price tag. The three different versions cost $500, $600 and $1000 respectively. Click the link below to check out the full Macworld article.
