This is a companion review for the NosillaCast podcast for RemotePad, an iPhone and iPod touch remote control app.
So, you’ve been buying equipment, enduring the harsh and sometimes often untruthful sales pitches from Best Buy associates, and you’re now setting it up. Remote is a simple application from Apple for your iPhone and iPod Touch that allows you to remotely control your iTunes library on your Mac or PC from your device.
Upon launching the application for the first time, you are greeted with a screen asking you to choose an iTunes library. The process is simple. You are assigned a passcode that you need to enter in your iTunes library. Once it’s been verified, you’re all set.
Now you’re ready to use the application. It’s laid out in the same way as the iPod application for the iPhone and iPod Touch. You have it all divided up into sections: Playlists, Artists, Albums, and more, along with a new feature: Search.
From there, you can control all of iTunes. You can play songs, movies, podcasts, and audiobooks. Then, once you’ve got one playing, you can create playlists, adjust the volume, or change other options: you have complete control.
Apple has really hit the nail on the head with this app. It is available as a free download from the App Store in iTunes or on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
